David Chavez is an associate attorney in the firm’s Litigation Department. David is known for his strategic approach to litigation and his ability to leverage a deep understanding of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Nevada Rules of Civil Procedure to effectively advocate for his clients and achieve their goals.
Prior to joining the firm, David gained extensive experience handling complex litigation matters at one of the country’s largest law firms. There, David represented financial institutions, lenders, and media organizations in both state and federal courts across the country. David’s experience includes matters involving consumer financial services, First Amendment litigation, open records disputes, corporate governance, and securities fraud. David has successfully blocked subpoenas directed at journalists and media organizations, conducted pre-publication review for podcasts and television segments, and assisted in obtaining reversals and extraordinary writ relief from the Supreme Court of Nevada.
Prior to entering private practice, David served as a judicial law clerk to Magistrate Judge Brenda Weksler in the United States District Court for the District of Nevada. Originally from Mexico, Jhonnatan immigrated to the United States at age 11 and is a DACA recipient.
