AFRICA A. SANCHEZ

Africa Sanchez is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Africa Sanchez Law. With decades of legal experience, she is widely respected for her advocacy in immigration and family law, her commitment to access to justice, and her deep roots in the Las Vegas community.

Africa is a skilled litigator and negotiator with extensive courtroom experience. Her background includes legal research, legal writing, oral advocacy, and complex negotiations, allowing her to effectively represent clients in high-stakes and emotionally sensitive matters. She is known for combining strong legal strategy with compassion, clarity, and cultural understanding.

She earned her Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University School of Law and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her educational background strengthens her ability to communicate clearly, advocate persuasively, and guide clients through complex legal systems.

Africa has been recognized as Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by the Legal Aid Center of Nevada, an honor that reflects her lifelong dedication to serving vulnerable communities. In addition to her legal practice, she has worked closely with several charter schools, serving as legal counsel and advisor on governance, compliance, and educational matters.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Africa is deeply committed to ensuring that individuals and families feel informed, respected, and empowered throughout their legal journey.

David Chavez

David Chavez is an associate attorney in the firm’s Litigation Department. David is known for his strategic approach to litigation and his ability to leverage a deep understanding of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Nevada Rules of Civil Procedure to effectively advocate for his clients and achieve their goals.

Prior to joining the firm, David gained extensive experience handling complex litigation matters at one of the country’s largest law firms. There, David represented financial institutions, lenders, and media organizations in both state and federal courts across the country. David’s experience includes matters involving consumer financial services, First Amendment litigation, open records disputes, corporate governance, and securities fraud. David has successfully blocked subpoenas directed at journalists and media organizations, conducted pre-publication review for podcasts and television segments, and assisted in obtaining reversals and extraordinary writ relief from the Supreme Court of Nevada.

Prior to entering private practice, David served as a judicial law clerk to Magistrate Judge Brenda Weksler in the United States District Court for the District of Nevada. David’s clerkship gives him valuable insight into the judicial decision-making process and courtroom procedure, which he now brings to his litigation practice. David is committed to delivering thoughtful, results-driven representation while maintaining a clear focus on efficiency, precision, and client advocacy.

JACQUELINE HERNANDEZ

Jacqueline Hernandez is an Attorney at Africa Sanchez Law, focusing on family law and immigration matters. A Las Vegas resident for more than 25 years, Jacqueline brings a deep understanding of the local courts, community, and legal landscape to her practice.

Jacqueline graduated magna cum laude from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and earned her Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law in 2022. Before entering private practice, she gained extensive judicial experience by clerking for two judges in the Family Division of the Eighth Judicial District Court of Nevada. In these roles, she drafted judicial orders, findings of fact, and legal memoranda, and worked closely with judges on family court proceedings, giving her valuable insight into courtroom procedures and judicial expectations.

At Africa Sanchez Law, Jacqueline represents clients in divorce, child custody, adoptions, prenuptial agreements, and family-based immigration matters, including adjustment of status and naturalization. Her background in trial court and appellate matters allows her to provide thoughtful, thorough representation while guiding clients through complex and emotionally challenging legal issues with professionalism and compassion.

Jacqueline is fluent in Spanish and is committed to ensuring clients feel informed, supported, and respected throughout every stage of their legal journey.

LEONEL SANCHEZ

Leonel Sanchez is a Paralegal at Africa Sanchez Law, bringing decades of experience within the federal judicial system and a deep understanding of legal procedures. A member of the Las Vegas community since 1984, Leonel offers both professional expertise and local insight in his work with clients and attorneys.

Leonel is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned degrees in Spanish and Criminal Justice. He served 21 years with the United States Probation Office for the District of Nevada, gaining extensive experience in federal court operations, sentencing guidelines, compliance standards, and judicial processes.

In his role at Africa Sanchez Law, Leonel supports case preparation, documentation, and procedural coordination with a disciplined, detail-oriented approach. His background in the federal court system allows him to bring a high level of accuracy, discretion, and accountability to every matter he touches.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Leonel is a trusted resource for clients navigating complex legal matters. His professionalism, commitment to fairness, and calm presence reflect the firm’s dedication to integrity and client-centered advocacy.

CHRISTINA DAVILA

As an Accounting Advisor at Africa Sanchez Law, she supports the firm’s financial organization, operational efficiency, and long-term business strategy. With more than two decades of leadership experience across luxury retail, business consulting, and people operations, Christina brings a sharp analytical lens to budgeting, financial oversight, and performance-driven decision making.

Throughout her career, Christina has managed multi-million-dollar operations, payroll forecasting, revenue planning, and profitability analysis for global brands including Stella McCartney, Prada, Mikimoto, and Betsey Johnson. Her work has consistently focused on aligning financial discipline with growth, accountability, and sustainable business practices.

In her advisory role, Christina applies this experience to help ensure the firm’s financial processes are organized, transparent, and aligned with leadership goals. She collaborates closely with management to support budgeting, internal reporting, operational planning, and systems that promote efficiency and long-term stability.

Christina is also the Founder of MOXIE Advising, where she consults with professionals and service-driven businesses on operational strategy, client retention, and organizational effectiveness. Her ability to connect financial insight with human-centered operations makes her a valued strategic partner within the firm.

Known for her discretion, precision, and results-focused approach, Christina plays an essential role in supporting the firm’s infrastructure, enabling the legal team to remain focused on client advocacy and community impact.

JHONNATAN LOPEZ

Jhonnatan Lopez is a Senior Paralegal at Africa Sanchez Law, bringing more than eight years of experience in family and immigration law. He earned his Paralegal Certificate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2021 and has extensive experience supporting family‑based petitions, immigration relief applications, and humanitarian matters.

Originally from Mexico, Jhonnatan immigrated to the United States at age 11 and is a DACA recipient. His personal journey navigating the U.S. immigration system gives him a profound sense of empathy, cultural insight, and firsthand understanding of the challenges many clients face. This lived experience informs his compassionate, clear, and detail‑driven approach to client support and advocacy.

At Africa Sanchez Law, Jhonnatan assists with case preparation, documentation, filings, and ongoing client communication. He is known for explaining legal processes in a way clients can understand, answering questions with patience, and helping individuals feel informed and supported throughout their legal journey.

Stephanie Lopez

Stephanie Lopez is a Legal Assistant and commissioned Notary Public in the State of Nevada, at Africa Sanchez Law. She plays an important role in supporting the legal team and ensuring that each case progresses smoothly, efficiently, and with careful attention to detail.

Stephanie assists attorneys and paralegals with case preparation, document organization, and client communications. Her work helps maintain organized case files, timely filings, and consistent coordination throughout the legal process. She is known for her diligence, reliability, and commitment to making sure every matter is handled with care and precision behind the scenes.

Before joining the firm, Stephanie gained valuable experience working in several professional office environments, including front desk and management roles. This background strengthened her skills in client service, office coordination, and team support, allowing her to contribute effectively to both daily operations and the overall client experience.

TERESA RUIZ

As Office Ambassador and Receptionist at Africa Sanchez Law, Teresa is often the first point of contact for clients and visitors. With more than a decade of experience in hospitality management and customer service, Teresa brings professionalism, warmth, and organization to every interaction.

Before joining the firm, Teresa held leadership and guest experience roles in ultra-luxury and high-volume hospitality environments, including hotel management and concierge services. Her background equips her to manage front-office operations, coordinate administrative support, and create a welcoming, respectful environment for clients navigating sensitive legal matters.

Teresa is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and is a Nevada-commissioned Notary Public, allowing her to support clients with clarity, accessibility, and efficiency. Her calm demeanor, attention to detail, and commitment to service reflect the firm’s values of compassion and client-centered care.
